Jenn Masamitsu: @jenn_runs262

Jenn discovered running in 4th grade when she ran a mile for the first time. She ran cross country and track in high school and for a year in college before switching to triathlon for a few years. During graduate school, she rediscovered her love of running when she completed her first half marathon and then ran her first marathon distance a few years later.

Jenn grew up in the Bay Area in California and frequently visited Disneyland with her family. She signed up for her first runDisney race after seeing the amazing medals and realized she could go run through the Happiest Place on Earth in a sparkly skirt and wings! Over the years, some of her most cherished running memories are those of racing through Disneyland. She has won 4 runDisney half marathon races, all while wearing wings and Sparkle Athletic skirts. She has also completed 14 marathons including the 2020 Olympic Trials where she placed 75th. Jenn currently trains with a local team, Denver Metro Racing and coaches runners of all levels with Bolton Endurance Sports Training.

Outside of running, Jenn spent 10 years working as a physical therapist helping runners return from and prevent injuries and now works as a software developer for a healthcare technology company. Julia Stewart: @Queenie11078

“Happiness is the richest thing we will ever own.”

As a mother, wife, boss, friend, sister, and daughter, it’s a mantra that rings true in every aspect of Julia’s life. She lives in an Atlanta suburb with her husband of almost 17 years, Steven, children (Tori, 25 and Nate, 14) and COVID puppy, Oswald. For her, growing old is mandatory, but growing up is not! Since her first race in 2012 ( a 5K she got dared to do) Julia has been an avid runner, proudly sporting her Sparkle Athletic Gear through uncountable 5Ks and 10Ks, dozens of half marathons (including being a Perfect Princess for the first 5 years of the Disney Princess Race series), and one full marathon.  Most recently she has begun training for the Virtual Boston Marathon that she will take on in October.

She also keeps herself busy raising funds for Team in Training, visiting Disney Parks, advocating for social justice and change, singing Broadway show tunes, collecting all the Baby Yoda items, and obsessing over Tom Hiddleston.

Once the important things are out of the way, she spends the rest of her time as the Vice President of Sales of an IT reseller all while wearing the perfect shade of red lipstick.

Kristen Griffin: @kgriff_run

My initial thought is that anyone can run, and that everyone can be a runner. Find Your Stride Coaching was created to help individuals not only reach their goals, but reach their potential. I strongly believe that proper guidance and encouragement can benefit every athlete, whether your goal is to begin running consistently, finish your local 5k or qualify for the Boston Marathon.

I was originally a sprinter and hurdler who was told to “just be happy with how good I was,” and that I’d never be able to reach the next level. I turned those doubts inward to create a fire and help motivate me to quiet the doubters. That motivation drove me to not only become a collegiate athlete, but to qualify for nationals multiple years in a row.

Once I graduated I turned that fire into new goals: a half marathon in every state, qualifying for Boston, and completing all six World Marathon Majors. Another big goal was to get into coaching. I now have two certifications (RRCA and VDot) to help you reach your goals!

Shelly Barney: @shelly.runs

Bringing people together and creating a community that fully supports them is something I have always been passionate about. As a mom of two toddlers with a full-time career as a Clinical Pharmacist, I realize the demands of life can deter us from creating time to partake in activities we enjoy. Running has been such a large part of my life for many years, and I knew I wanted to pay it forward; I wanted to create a place where everyone feels the same joy from the sport that I do.

Our run community, InstaRunClub, was born out of a vision to create a place where every runner feels supported. What started as an idea has grown into something incredible. I am profoundly grateful for the community of runners that has become our virtual run family.

Today we are supporting each other and are creating fun, innovative ways to keep our community motivated. Whether running around your neighborhood, training for a 5K, or gearing up to run a marathon – every journey is unique, important, and should be celebrated.
