Meet #teamsparkle – @daniellvecchione

We think THE best part about Sparkle Athletic are the AHH-MAZING people that make up #teamsparkle. We are so incredibly lucky to “meet” (IRL and virtually) so many team members, but we thought it’s about time we introduced the people that make up this inspiring & motivating community.

With that being said, it’s time to meet a member of #teamsparkle. Up next is the run streaker Daniell, aka @daniellvecchione!

Tell us about your past race/running experience:

Daniell: I decided to seriously take up running after my husband’s second runDisney half marathon and seeing how much fun it looked. As soon as registration opened for the 2013 Disneyland Half Marathon I quickly signed up. I didn’t really start taking my training too serious right away, but after my husband convinced me to sign up for the Walt Disney World Half in 2014 I figured I needed to put my running in high gear. At that time I was not even able to run a full mile without stopping several times. Over the next few months, I gained a ton of confidence and knew I’d finish. I finished the first half in my goal time, so I was super happy with that. I have now continued to improve my pace and love for running. My husband and I just completed our second year of running at least a mile per day.

We are so glad you are a part of #teamsparkle. When did you first join and what color was your first skirt?

D: I knew I had to have a skirt for my first half. I did a ton of Pinterest browsing to get inspired. I ended up deciding to run as Snow White, so my first skirt was yellow. I even used the same one for my next half at Walt Disney World to run as Princess Belle.

What/Who inspires you to continue running?

D: My husband and kids inspire me daily. When my husband challenged me to start a run streak I thought he was crazy, especially since he wanted to start the day after I just ran a half marathon. Now that I have completed two years, I can see how much my world has shifted and I hope that I am now inspiring my friends and family to get out and be active on a daily basis.

We all know how much #teamsparkle loves their treats as much as they love running… What’s your favorite indulgence?

D: I love ice cream, that is probable my biggest weakness. But I pretty much love anything sweet.

Which Sparkle Athletic product is your favorite “go to”?

D: My go to are the visors. I wear one pretty much on every run. They are made so well and I just love the fit and look of them. I get tons of compliments since I own a ton of colors I can match them to my outfit of the day.

What is one of your favorite parts of racing in a Sparkle Athletic skirt?

D: I love the way I am able to come up with cute and simple costume ideas by using the skirts and visors. When I run in local runs it is not very often we see people running in sparkly skirts or even tutu’s so it makes me stand out and they are great conversation starters. Plus I just love to dress up so they are the perfect addition to all of my running outfits.

Thank YOU so very much for “joining the team.” Individually each & every one of you is amazing, but as a “team” we ROCK.

Everyone has a story, and we want to hear YOURS! The #teamsparkle community is such a loving and inclusive group, but often times we are tackling our runs solo. Knowing your teammates can help you to feel more a part of the running community.

If you would like to share your story, whether it is about how you got started running, what motivates your running, why you love running, or how running has changed your life, please let us know! We would love to feature you on an upcoming “Meet The Team“ post – so email us at meettheteam@sparkleathletic.com!
